Hair Transplant Scar Removal

Visible scars from past hair transplant procedures—especially from outdated FUT (strip) surgeries—can be a lingering reminder that affects your hairstyle choices and self-esteem. Our advanced scar removal and concealment techniques help reduce or camouflage these marks, giving you smoother, more natural-looking results.

About Hair Transplant Scar Removal

Older hair transplant methods, particularly strip harvesting (FUT), often leave linear scars across the back of the scalp. While newer FUE techniques are less invasive, scarring can still occur in some cases. If you have visible scarring from a previous procedure, we offer solutions to help restore the natural look of your scalp.

At My Cosmetic Centre, we use a combination of methods—such as scar revision, FUE grafting into scar tissue, and scalp micropigmentation (SMP)—depending on the severity and location of the scar. Our goal is either to make the scar disappear or to blend it so well that it’s undetectable even with short hairstyles.

How it Works

Scar Assessment & Consultation

We evaluate the type, size, and depth of your scar and discuss your previous procedures to create a personalised treatment plan.

FUE into Scar Tissue

Healthy hair follicles are transplanted directly into the scarred area using the FUE method, helping break down scar tissue and promote natural hair growth.

Scar Revision (If Required)

For raised or stretched scars, we may surgically revise the scar to make it narrower and flatter before implanting follicles.

Scalp Micropigmentation (Optional)

In cases where grafting isn’t ideal, we use SMP to replicate the appearance of natural hair follicles and reduce the contrast between the scar and surrounding hair.

Quick answers to questions you may have

Can you completely remove the scar?

While full removal isn’t always possible, we can significantly reduce its visibility through hair grafting, revision, or pigmentation.

Will hair grow normally in the scar area?

If the scar has good blood supply, transplanted hair can grow successfully in it. We assess this during your consultation.

Is scar removal painful?

The procedure is performed under local anaesthesia and involves minimal discomfort with quick recovery.

How long until I see results?

New hair growth typically starts around 3–4 months after the procedure, with full results visible by 9–12 months.
